Creative Thinking Spaces are a wonderful learning opportunity for staff across Open Mental Health to come together to discuss how best to support the people we work with in a wholly safe and confidential way.
These reflective spaces are held fortnightly online and are facilitated by a psychologist. Run by Second Step, the sessions give colleagues the opportunity to think about the work they do from a psychological, adversity and trauma-informed perspective. They provide the perfect opportunity to put your trauma-informed training into practice!
Regular attendees say it’s a great way to share good practice and discuss current challenges. Everyone is welcome and while you don’t have to share a particular case, you can if you wish.
Our aim is to encourage curiosity, make sense of how what’s happened to someone in the past shapes the world as they currently experience it, and support us all to focus on this rather than focusing on symptoms or what’s ‘wrong’ with someone.
Shout-out to all Open Mental Health partners
Di Trigger, Open Mental Health team leader with partner Second Step, said:
“We’re really keen to welcome more people to these amazing spaces. They’re open to all organisations across Somerset who support people with mental health difficulties. If you’d like to find out more, please get in touch. We’re really keen to encourage more people to come along – they’re a great networking opportunity too!”
Do come along and try out this great resource for yourself. Sessions are held fortnightly alternating Tuesdays at 3.30pm and Thursdays at 9.30am via MS Teams.
