Support for Caregivers
Are you supporting a friend or family member struggling with mental health? At times, this can be overwhelming and sometimes leads to caregivers having concerns over their own mental health. Our partner, The Community Council for Somerset (CCS) provides support that can help.
Who can use the CCS Somerset Carers Service?
If you are over 18 and look after someone in an ‘unpaid’ caring capacity, you can receive support from CCS Somerset Carers Service for free. The person you look after could be a loved one, friend, partner, parent, sibling, or child on a regular or irregular basis. CCS Somerset Carers Service aims to ensure you receive the right support by working with healthcare providers and other local services to create a package of care that works for you.
What services are available?
On the Somerset Carers website you will find a number of useful downloadable resources, information about local carer groups, and instructions for accessing the online carers forum. You can also call the CCS Somerset Carers Service advice line on freephone 0800 31 68 600.
You can be referred to CCS Somerset Carers Service as part of the wider Open Mental Health service. Please contact our Open Mental Health team at Mindline Somerset freephone 0800 138 1692 or contact us.
