Managing Your Emotions Course
We all have times when our emotions feel a bit like a stormy sea. Sometimes waves of anxiety, sadness, or frustration can feel so high that it’s hard to keep our heads above water. When this happens, it can be difficult to manage our daily lives, and we might feel quite hopeless about things ever changing.
New 10 Week Online Course
Learning how to manage these big emotions is a skill, much like learning to drive or cook. When we have the right tools in our kit, we can start to feel more in control of our reactions and more at peace within ourselves.
That is why we are so pleased to offer this 10-week online course. It is designed to give you practical, everyday strategies to help you steady the ship and improve your mental wellbeing.
What makes this training different?
The course is structured like a friendly, informal class rather than a therapy group. Our colleagues from the NHS lead the sessions and keep the atmosphere relaxed and approachable.
The course focuses on learning helpful techniques inspired by:
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy: Skills to help us handle intense emotions without feeling overwhelmed.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy: Understanding how our thoughts and feelings are connected.
Compassion Focused Therapy: Learning how to be a bit kinder to ourselves when things are tough.
How it works
We want you to feel as comfortable as possible while you learn.
No pressure to speak: You can choose to join in the conversation or just sit back and listen.
Keep your camera off: If you feel more comfortable staying private, you are welcome to keep your camera turned off.
Safe and steady: Discussions stay focused on coping strategies. The space remains safe by avoiding any triggering or distressing topics.
Accessible from home: You can join the sessions on Microsoft Teams using your phone, tablet, or laptop. If you’re worried about the tech side of things, don’t be—free technical support is on hand to help you get set up.
