Free Activities and Groups in Somerset
Get involved!
When we’re struggling, it’s easy to feel isolated, but these groups help us find a sense of belonging and purpose. Whether it’s a hobby that releases those “feel-good” chemicals or a peer support group where you can share your story, these spaces are safe, friendly, and designed to help us feel seen and heard.
If you’re feeling a bit nervous about coming along, please know that’s completely normal. Many people feel exactly the same way before their first session. You’ll be met with a warm welcome and plenty of encouragement.
Talking Cafés
Sometimes we just need a friendly face and a bit of advice without the pressure of a formal appointment. Talking Cafés are hosted by Village Agents and provide a relaxed place to chat. You can pop in for a coffee, meet new people, and get support with anything that’s on your mind—from money worries to finding local services. They are great for helping us feel more connected to our own community. Learn more here >>
Support for Carers
Looking after someone else can be rewarding, but it can also be exhausting and lonely. It’s vital that we look after ourselves too. There are dedicated Carers Support Groups across Somerset where you can meet others in similar situations. It’s a space to offload, share advice, and remember that you aren’t doing this alone. Discover details of locations, dates, and times here >>
Both services are facilitated by Thrive, Somerset.
