We are looking for kind and empathetic volunteers to join our Crisis Safe Space teams in Frome, Wells, and Bridgwater. As a volunteer, you will be a friendly face for people when they need it most—welcoming them into our space, offering a listening ear, and helping them find the right path forward.
What you’ll be doing
A warm welcome: You’ll meet and greet people as they arrive, making sure they feel at ease and providing a safe “sounding board”.
Practical support: This might include making refreshments, helping with enrolment paperwork, or exploring wellbeing activities like low-level crafting.
Ongoing care: You may offer follow-up telephone support or help signpost people to other services across Somerset that can help with their recovery.
Why volunteer with us?
Volunteering is a wonderful way to connect with our local community and put your own life experience to good use. You’ll be part of a supportive team, working alongside Senior Mental Health Crisis Workers who are always there to offer guidance.
If you have a passion for supporting others and can commit to a few hours one evening a week, we would love to hear from you. Our services run daily between 5:30 pm and 11:00 pm, and we especially value those who can bring their own lived experience of mental health to the role.
