Support Your Recovery
Connecting with other people who understand what we’re going through can make a big difference when we are struggling with our mental health. However, the thought of walking into a room full of strangers can sometimes feel a bit much. We might worry about feeling awkward or not knowing what to say.
This is where online groups can be a real help, as they allow us to find support and community from the comfort of our own sofas, taking away some of that initial pressure. Whether you want to learn new ways to manage your emotions, pick up a new hobby, or just chat with people who get it, there is a space for you.
Why WATCH Workshops?
Our partners at WATCH CIO focus on the idea that we are the experts of our own lives. Their workshops are designed to be a safe, welcoming environment where everyone is seen and valued. From the Pathways online drop-in to the Managing Your Emotions course, their goal is to provide practical tools that we can use in our everyday lives to steady our ship when things feel a bit rocky.
Support from Mind in Somerset
Mind in Somerset offers a wide variety of groups because support isn’t one-size-fits-all. Sometimes, we might find it easier to connect through a shared activity rather than a traditional support group. Online sessions range from creative Art and Craft groups to fun-filled Role Playing Games. These groups help members build community and find satisfaction in the things they enjoy.
Fitness and Fun with SASP
Unbreakable Men from our partner SASP offers men a chance to improve physical fitness while getting mentally fit, too. It’s all about taking positive, practical steps to boost your mental and physical health. As well as in-person activities, there are light-hearted online sessions where like-minded men get together to chat about ways to improve wellbeing.
How to Manage Your Emotions
Sometimes, feelings of anxiety, sadness, frustration, or other emotional responses can make it difficult to manage our daily lives. This 10-week online course, delivered by the NHS, gives practical, everyday strategies to help you improve your mental wellbeing. It’s structured like a friendly, informal class rather than a therapy group, and there is no pressure to speak or even have your camera on.
