Supportive Online Spaces
Connecting with understanding people can make a big difference to someone struggling with their mental health. However, the thought of walking into a room full of strangers can be daunting, raising worries about feeling awkward or not knowing what to say.
Online groups can be a real help, as they offer support and community accessible from home, reducing some of that initial worry and offering new ways to manage emotions, enjoy a hobby, or chat with people who share similar experiences.
WATCH Workshops?
Our partners at WATCH CIO offer safe, welcoming workshops, including Pathways drop-in and Peer Worker Development training. Their goal is to provide practical tools that people can use in their everyday lives to help themselves and others.
Mind in Somerset Online Groups
Mind in Somerset has groups where people can connect through shared activities like creative arts and crafts or role-playing games, helping members find community and satisfaction in the things they enjoy.
Fitness and Fun with SASP
Unbreakable Men from our partner SASP offers men a chance to improve physical fitness while getting mentally fit, too. It’s all about taking positive, practical steps to boost your mental and physical health. As well as in-person activities, there are light-hearted online sessions where like-minded men get together to chat about ways to improve wellbeing.
Managing Emotions
Sometimes, feelings of anxiety, sadness, frustration, or other emotional responses can make it difficult to manage our daily lives. This 10-week online course, delivered by the NHS, gives practical, everyday strategies to help you improve your mental wellbeing. It’s structured like a friendly, informal class rather than a therapy group, and there is no pressure to speak or even have your camera on.
