Help give your community a voice to shape mental health services
The Open Mental Health Community Engagement Team are looking for volunteer Champions to help them better understand the barriers people face when trying to access mental health support.
Champions have the opportunity to share their experiences and ideas to help improve OMH services and promote OMH within their community.
New recruit, Doina Stoica, explains what motivated her to get involved: “I know how much it means to have support from somebody. I am originally from Romania, and understand how hard it can be to look after your mental health when you are far from friends and family. I found the Champion training very rewarding and interesting, and I am looking forward to using it.”
We particularly welcome people who have lived experience of mental health difficulties or are from communities that might struggle to access services. Anyone who chooses to volunteer will be fully supported and can be reimbursed for their time and travel expenses.
If you, or someone you know would like to get involved, please visit our Champions webpage.
