Mental Health Awareness Week
With just a couple of weeks to go until #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek (15-21 May) we thought we would share details on a couple of events happening in Somerset.
The theme this year is anxiety. Mental Health Awareness Week is an ideal time for us all to think about mental health, tackle stigma, and find out how we can create a society that prevents mental health problems from developing and protects our mental well-being.

Somerset Council
Somerset Council is running 2 campaigns for MHAW.
#SomersetMyHappyPlace
People can share photos of places across Somerset that help them to feel calmer and happier.
The photos shared will be used in an interactive map that will showcase the green spaces across the county that help to lift your mood.

Worry Tree Campaign
Organisations such as schools, local businesses, libraries, and supermarkets have been invited to set up a ‘Worry Tree’ during MHAW. The idea is that people who visit these places can write down any worries or anxieties they may have.
